Caramoan Budget Travel Guide 2016 - Backpacking Bicol- Visayas in 9 days series

March 11-13 2016

Our first leg of Backpacking is Caramoan, and yes, my first time! We spent 750 each ata yun for our Bus fare. It was a friday and super traffic. Kumain muna kasi sa andoks so 200 pesos yun plus nag 711 pa ko bumili ako water and kung ano ano pa so naka 120 ako dun.Umalis yung bus 9pm on the dot! Good thing that 2 of my friends, Mc and Jhass came with us. Mas makakatipid kami this time!

It took us 10.5 hours before we reached the tricycle terminal where we paid 100 pesos and took us 30 minutes before we reached Sabang Port. Unfortunately, we arrived around 8:05 and kakaalis lang ng boat.

M/V Harry Boat Schedule

Sabang Port to Guijalo Port
1st trip: 5:30AM
2nd trip: 08:00 AM
3rd trip: 11:00 AM
Last trip: 2:00 PM

Guijalo Port to Sabang Port
1st trip: 7;00AM
2nd trip: 8:00 AM
3rd trip: 9:00 AM
Last trip: 11:00 PM

So we waited for 3 hours para lang makatipid. Regular boat fare is 120 pesos while Private boat ranges from 2500-3000. Expensive diba!

When we arrived at Guijalo Port, medyo low tide na kaya we ride pa smaller boat para hindi kami mabasa. Paid them 50 pesos for 2.

Before this trAte Myrna, Kuya Ramil's wife ( 09074351962 ) para makarent kami ng boat for island hopping kasi we planned to camp for the night lang.

Ate contacted us na nagpadala na siya ng tricycle 300 pesos one way going to Brgy Paniman where their homestay is located. We also went to Centro to buy supplies and food for our dinner and breakfast the next day. Imagine, isang malaking Parrot fish e 80 pesos lang! We asked ate to cook us rice nalang para di na kami magsasaing.

My initial plan was to stay in Caramoan for 2 days para sa 2 island hopping (long and short trip) but due to time constraints, we changed plans and decided that next day we will hop the first ride going to Legaspi.

So instead of doing the short island hopping at around 3PM, we decided to go straight to the island where we can camp for the night and stay there nalang, tapos tomorrow nalang kami magiisland hopping!

Off to Matukad island.

When we arrived at Matukad Island, we set our camp agad, picture picture then luto luto para before mag gabi, chill nalang kami!

O winner ang matukad diba, walang edit yan kasi wala akong time, saka wala akong memory card reader kaya di ko magamit yung mga pictures na nasa SLR.

You can climb the huge rock for photo ops, sumasakit kasi likod ko so pass ako sa mga ganyang akyatan! Meron din sa kabilang side na lagoon pero need din umakyat so never mind, sila nalang.

Hohoho.

The next day, we woke up early para makapagbreakfast saka makapagligpit na so we can start our island hopping - 2000 rent ng boat pag overnight, while 1500 naman pag hindi.

Next stop, Cagbanilad Island

Last stop ng short trip is Minalaghos Island, hindi na kami bumaba si Mc nalang as he needs to do something really really important there.

We finished our island hopping trip around 10pm so we headed straight kila Kuya Ramil's homestay para makapaligo na ng maayos and eat early lunch 200 pesos as we need to catch our tricycle heading back to Guijalo Port ng 12pm.

Yes! I love Caramoan!

So why small boat and where are we heading?

Expenses: For 2 heads, we spent 3860 for an overnight stay in Caramoan including Bus fare, food, water, miscellaneous expenses, tips and other transpo expenses.
